After the First World War he taught at secondary schools in the districts of Ottweiler and Saarbrücken. One of his students was Fred Baldes, who described Jakob Schug as an excellent educator. His curiosity and emotion moved Fred Baldes to describe the story and images of Jakob Schug in a 135-page book.
