The towers of the two places of worship of the Protestant and Catholic parish esnacl characterize the silhouette of the city of Baumholder. In addition to the two large Christian churches, there are numerous smaller congregations in the city, which are mainly visited by the American military members, as well as a New Apostolic congregation.
The Catholic parish church of St. Simon and Judas Thaddäus was built from 1882-1885 in the neo-Gothic church style.

The Evangelical church is a simple baroque hall church, which was attached between 1748 and 1750 to the late Gothic west tower. Here you can also visit the historic silent organ.
The Evangelical parish runs a kindergarten with all-day childcare in the old town and a youth centre.
Meetings of older people take place in the parish halls of both churches.

The community of Baumholder of the New Apostolic Church was founded in 1932.
Initially, private apartments of parishioners, later classrooms of the community school I and the Brühlschule were used to hold the divine services.
The church building “In der Schwärzgrub 27” was handed over to its destination in April 1992, after almost two years of construction.
