Completion of Reading Summer 2020

Last weekend, in fine weather, the closing event of the Reading Summer 2020 of the City library Baumholder took place. Corona-related, the small celebration took place outdoors and wearing a mask. But the young readers didn’t seem to mind. Compared to last year, there was a slight increase in the number of participants in this particular year. Also 325 books with a total of almost 31,000 pages were read out of 35 reported children and adolescents (for the remark: in 2019 there were only 16,000 pages in total) Two younger readers, Aicha and Mohammed-Amin read a total of 100 books, that was a proud 8,650 pages! Out of 27 participants, all evaluation cards were sent to Neustadt for the big raffle of the state of Rheinland-Pfalz. The staff of the library keep their fingers crossed that this year a child or adolescent from our library will be present at the draw for the main prizes. Also in the City library Baumholder every reader got a small raffle win, as well as a voucher and of course the certificate. Ms. Schmitt, the head of the library, would like to thank all the sponsors, the city of Baumholder, the district savings bank and the ice cream parlor Dolomiten for the donations, without which such an event is not possible. The participants of the reading summer, who were not able to participate in the graduation ceremony, are asked to collect their certificates etc. in the next few weeks in the city library in the Golden Angel.

See you in the library!
